ABOUT THE CENTRE FOR COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY

ABOUT US

What we offer at The Centre For Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Exposure and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) interventions represent a gold standard in the treatment of panic disorder, specific phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), health anxiety, social anxiety disorder, and agoraphobia. Most anxious people tend to avoid phobic objects, activities, or places associated with their fears.

They may also take extra special precautions to cope.  Avoidance behaviours, the excessive use of distraction and maladaptive coping strategies work only in the short term but then ultimately serve to perpetuate the problem.

If you are struggling with any of these problems, be aware that our skilled clinicians will provide you with the tools that you require to overcome your fears.  We will work together to help you develop an exposure based plan to confront the situations or activities you have been avoiding.

Janet Caryk and Wes Miller have over fifty years of combined clinical and counseling experience.  Our trusted associates have been trained and supervised to a high standard in the provision of CBT.  After providing consent, clients can have the advantage of a senior master clinician overseeing their treatment plan, should they choose to.
