Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET)
The Centre for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is excited to introduce their exclusive Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) program.
Virtual Reality (VR) is a set of 3D environments with which a person interacts in real time, to gain a sense of immersion that is similar to that of a real situation. The simulated environments create a process that triggers the target emotion of fear in the client. The CFCBT was the first western Canadian private clinic to use virtual reality for the treatment of anxiety disorders.

Virtual Reality allows individuals to approach situations and objects they would normally avoid. It helps clients to learn a set of skills from the virtual environment that can transfer to the real world.

Who is a suitable candidate for VRET?
We have 3D environments that address the following phobias:
-
Needles
